The training is entitled "Person-Centered and Trauma-Informed Care" as it pertains to the co-occurring population with an intellectual disability and mental health diagnosis. A total of four units should be requested as the training will be split into two sessions. The training will focus on care teams and an organization's need to take a holistic approach to providing care along the continuum with specific focus on past and present events to provide effective treatment planning with a solution-focused orientation. A person-centered approach asks, "What happened to you?" as opposed to "What is wrong with you?" Taking said approach can potentially improve treatment compliance, patient engagement, and health outcomes.
